Q2 2024 Tower Defense Game Insights Across iOS and Android

In the second quarter of 2024, the Tower Defense category has shown some interesting trends in downloads and user engagement. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a snapshot of the performance of the top five games in this genre.

ELECTRONIC ARTS's classic Plants vs. Zombies™ maintained a steady increase in revenue, peaking at $123K in late April before seeing a decline to $64K by the end of June. Downloads remained consistent with a slight peak of 2.8M in mid-April, while weekly active users saw a high of 13.1M in mid-April before a gradual decrease to 12.3M.

Stick Hero: Tower Defense, from Vietnamese publisher Rocket Succeed Together, had no revenue to report but saw a notable spike in downloads to 3.9M in early May. Weekly active users for Stick Hero peaked at 46.3K in late April, then tapered off to 38.5K by late June.

Another title from ELECTRONIC ARTS, Plants vs Zombies™ 2, showed a strong revenue pattern, starting at $340K and reaching $470K mid-quarter before settling at $325K. Downloads and active users experienced slight fluctuations but ended the quarter at 1.4M and 16.7K, respectively.

Lastly, Rush Royale: Tower Defense TD by MY.GAMES B.V. saw impressive revenue figures, peaking at $8.5M in mid-April. Downloads remained above 1M throughout the quarter, and weekly active users were quite stable, though they experienced a slight decline from 19.9K to 17.3K.
